4th-6th Grade Laptop Home Internet Connection

PDS uses an off-campus filter called Captive Portal, which your son will have to sign into once every five days. While we showed your son how to do this, we wanted you to know the process too.

When your son launches his internet (Chrome, Safari, or Firefox), a blue screen, with "Captive Portal" will appear. Skip over the two boxes for username and password. Your son will need to click the link titled, "Google Auth,” which appears towards the bottom of that screen. Once he clicks on the link, he will be prompted to enter his PDS Gmail. (Your son should have a sticker in his AB with this information. Most accounts follow the scheme: first name + first letter of last name + 3 numbers @pdsmemphis.org. Ex: charlest465@pdsmemphis.org)

The next screen will have him enter his email password. (This is his AR password, plus his PDS graduation year. 6th graders use 2019, 5th graders use 20 and 4th graders use 21. Ex: hatsky2018 or hatsky19. This password is also located on his sticker.) He will have to click "Next" two times to finish the authentication process. Once he is done, his home internet connection will work. While this process will be repeated every five days, it should only take a minute to complete.
