Tuesday
  • Students will complete one fifteen minute Membean session by Wednesday, January 23rd. Students will have a Membean Writing Assessment due on Friday, January 25th.
  • Students will have a spelling quiz over lesson six on Thursday, January 31st. Make sure to review all word parts from previous lessons.
  • Students will have a Verb Test on Friday, January 25th. Students need to follow their Study Plan and use the resources on PowerSchool Learning to help prepare for the test.
  • Chapter one vocabulary flashcards for Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry are due Thursday, January 24th. 
  • Students need to watch the writing the outline tutorial by Wednesday, January 23rd.
  • Students will complete an IXL on indefinite pronoun-verb agreement (Eighth grade: FF.2 Correct errors with indefinite pronoun-verb agreement). Students may stop at the score of 80 or after 15 minutes of practice.
Wednesday
  • Students will complete one fifteen minute Membean session by Thursday, January 24th. Students will have a Membean writing assessment due on Friday, January 25th.
  • Students will have a Verb Test on Friday, January 25th. Students need to follow their Study Plan and use the resources on PowerSchool Learning to help prepare for the test.
  • Chapter one vocabulary flashcards for Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry are due Thursday, January 24th.
  • Students will complete an IXL on compound subjects (Eighth grade: FF.3 Use the correct verb – with compound subjects). Students may stop when they get to a minimum score of 80 or when they have practiced for 15 minutes.
Thursday
  • Students will complete one fifteen minute Membean session by Friday, January 25th. Students will have a Membean Writing Assessment due on Friday, January 25th.
  • Students will have a Verb Test on Friday, January 25th. Students need to follow their Study Plan.
  • Students will begin Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. Students will complete any additional assignments or reading that was not completed in class by Thursday, January 24th.
  • Students will complete an IXL on the perfect tenses (Eighth grade: GG.5 Form the perfect verb tenses). Students may stop when they get to a minimum score of 80 or when they have practiced for 15 minutes.
Friday
  • Students will continue to read RTHMC. Students will complete any additional assignments or reading that was not completed in class by Monday, January 28th.
  • Prepositional phrase notes due by Wednesday, January 30th.

Wednesday
  • Students will read twenty pages of their independent reading book.

  • If students do not pass the grammar practice quiz in class, they will need to complete the required work that is due tomorrow. The verb test study plan is due Friday, January 18th. The verb test is on Friday, January 25th.
Thursday
  • Students will read twenty pages of their independent reading book.
  • Students will complete one fifteen-minute Membean session by Friday, January 18th. Students will have a Membean assessment on Friday, January 18th. Students may complete extra Membean sessions to prepare for the assessment.
  • Students will complete an IXL on predicate adjectives and predicate nominatives by Friday, January 18th (Seventh Grade: DD.2 Identify linking verbs, predicate adjectives, and predicate nominatives). Students can stop when they get to a minimum score of 80 or when they have practiced for 15 minutes.
  • The verb test study plan is due Friday, January 18th.
  • If students do not finish the verb practice packet in class today, they will need to complete it for homework; it is due Friday, January 18th.
Friday
  • Students will read twenty pages of their independent reading book. 
  • Membean sentences are due on Friday, January 25th.
  • Students will complete an IXL on direct and indirect objects by Tuesday, January 22nd (Seventh Grade: II.2 Is it a direct object or indirect object?). Students can stop when they get to a minimum score of 80 or when they have practiced for 15 minutes.
  • Students will have a verb test on Friday, January 25th. Students will need to use their study plans to help them prepare for the test.

Day 1

Before coming to class on Day 1, students were to watch and take notes on the day 1 tutorial. In class, students were to complete the day 1 checking in and practice problems. If students did not complete the practice problems in class, they are to finish for homework. Students should have taken notes on the day 2 tutorial prior to the Thanksgiving break.

Students should be working on the Math & Quantitative Reasoning ISEE practice tests and bring questions to discuss in class on Thurs, 11/29, and Fri, 11/30.

**Please note the due date below coincides with the day of the math rotation and may not necessarily be the "due" date.

Day 2

**Students received a hard copy of the Unit 8 Extra Practice Problems today in class. These are to be completed during free time in/out of class and will be due at the beginning of class on day 5, 12/4.

Guided Challenge Test Out

**Please note that we will breakaway from the regular rotation to discuss the Math & QR ISEE practice tests Thurs, 11/29, and Fri, 11/30.

Those students who would like to attempt to test out of the regular curriculum and enter the Guided Challenge will have an opportunity to do so in class today. In order to attempt to test out, students should have completed the Unit 8 practice test found on PowerSchool Learning.
