$7 Million to Go!
The Building Boys, Making Men Campaign is moving forward. Currently, we have raised $19 million of our $26 million goal. We are looking forward to Phase Two being funded, construction complete and PDS boys enjoying the new world-class facilities.
Phase Two focuses on boys primarily in 1st through 6th grade, although boys from the Wilson Early Childhood Center will also benefit. A new music center and a new art wing will allow boys be more involved in the arts, perhaps unleashing a new passion or just teaching a great appreciation. The new media center will be the hub of information at PDS. This hybrid space will take the best of a traditional library, add the flexibility of a learning lab and combined with a technology center. Our 21st century media center will inspire and challenge boys. The media center will connect them to new friends, countries and ideas from around the world. The second science lab will allow boys to spend more time doing hands on science. This lab will encourage boys to consider the world of science and engineering. The Mallory Reading and Learning Center will allow us to continue to customize the curriculum based on each boy’s unique learning style. A new kitchen and dining hall will allow us to promote greater health, nutrition and fitness.
This new phase focuses on developing in our boys vital 21st century skills that they will need to be scholars and leaders in a dynamic global community.
These new facilities will move PDS forward. They will enhance the wonderful academic institution, which has been a part of Memphis for more than 60 years. Phase Two is about the future of all PDS boys, the boys who will become leaders in Memphis and beyond.
I hope you will join us by supporting the boys of PDS as we seek to Build Boys and Make Men.

A New Dining Hall and Kitchen. No longer will PDS boys eat fast food or food prepared by another food source simply because we have no kitchen in which to prepare our own meals.
No longer will some PDS boys be forced to eat lunch as early as 10:55 a.m. or as late as 1:15 p.m. simply because our current cafeteria is much too small.

Media Center as an Information Hub.With a space large enough to offer video conferencing with experts or other schools, high tech enough to provide our teachers and boys with the most advanced audio visual equipment, and comprehensive enough to house PDS’s existing collection of almost 20,000 library books, and boy-friendly enough to include plenty of light, color, and seating.
