Hey there!  Our hive is all a buzz with first grade activities.

Spelling:  tion and sion
Reading:  Story:  Lemonade for Sale and Hedgehog Bakes a Cake;  Skill:  Comprehension Skills Review
English:   DOL Practice (Daily Oral Language);  Cheeseburger Paragraph Writing
Math: review of other skills; Second Grade Rocket Quiz Practice
Social Studies:  Memphis History- 1A Boys will become Time Traveling Archaeologists while learning about about their city's history.

Dates to Remember:
5.15.13  First Grade Class Day, 8:30 am in the Fellowship Hall/All Grandparents are welcome too/Full Day of School (Boys need to wear their costumes to school and bring dress down clothes.)
5.22.13  Last Day of School/Bowling Party/Half Day



School Supplies for 2013-2014 School Year

school-suppliesAs in prior years, PDS will order your son’s school supplies allowing us to take advantage of bulk pricing and to ensure conformity. The costs of these supplies were estimated on your enrollment contract to be from $35-$150 depending on the grade level, but will not be finalized until this summer at which time your son’s account will be billed.

Your son’s supplies will be ready for him on his first day of school in August!

Homework Week of May 13th

**Boys should be reading five out of seven nights each week for at least 15 minutes each night.  They should also be going over their sight words and basic math facts.

Monday--Spelling Homework
Tuesday--No Homework/Get ready for Class Day
Wednesday--Second Grade Rocket Quiz Practice/Allow 7 and a half minutes to complete
Thursday--Reading Homework
Friday--No Homework

Dates to Remember:
5.15.13  Class Day @ 8:30 in the Fellowship Hall/Grandparents are welcome/Full Day of School (Boys need to come to school dress in their costume.  They may bring dress down clothes to change into after the program.)
