As I have had the opportunity in recent years to visit and/or network with other leading independent schools in our country, I have increasingly realized how unique a school PDS is. We are a school that integrates serious scholarship and deep faith. We are a school that honors how boys learn…and that gives boys a godly vision of manhood. We are a school that builds boys and makes men. 

We are a school of tradition and innovation, a school whose curriculum and programs are both rigorous and relevant and that prepare boys to be critical and creative thinkers, to be imaginative and entrepreneurial, and to collaborate and share. We are a school of high achieving boys (our students consistently outperform their peers at our country’s leading independent school), yet we value their character, values and faith as much or more than their outstanding scholastic accomplishments.

We are enjoying very strong enrollment and growth as a school, with fabulous new facilities (and more in the future as we receive additional capital commitments). We have an increasingly global curriculum, yet we remain anchored in our mission to glorify God by developing boys in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man. We remain committed to nurturing the heart, soul, mind and body of each boy.

On behalf of the boys and teachers of PDS, I want to thank you for your gifts and investments in PDS. As you will read in this report, we each have different reasons for investing in PDS, but all these investments make us a better school. From SmartBoards to science equipment to teachers’ summer study at Harvard, they have a direct and profound impact on the learning and development of our boys.

We are fortunate to educate and nurture boys during the most formative years of their lives. And we, and they, are fortunate to have so many friends like you who are investing in their learning and in the sort of men, husbands, and fathers they will one day become.
