Welcome to the PDS Alumni section of our website. I hope that you will enjoy reading about news and events as they pertain to our PDS Alumni. We are in the process of updating our alumni records, and always welcome current information including address, phone number, email address, and information on what is happening in your life, i.e. career, family and interests. PDS is proud of our Alumni!

The PDS Alumni Association Board,currently under the direction of John Phillips V '97, was developed to serve alumni as well as promote the welfare of the school. A list of Alumni Association Board members is available under the Alumni Leadership section of this site.

On Friday, April 12, 2013, David Hoyt Montague was named Presbyterian Day School’s 2013 Distinguished Alumnus. David was part of the PDS Class of 1976 and currently serves as the Director of the Memphis Teacher Residency (MTR).

Prior to MTR, David served for two years (2005-2007) with Campus Crusade for Christ in East Asia. From 2000-2005, David was the Director of Service Over Self, an urban home-repair ministry in the Binghampton neighborhood of Memphis.

From 1987-2000, David worked with Morgan Keegan & Co as an investment broker and managing director. David, a lifetime Memphian, graduated in 1986 from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX) with a degree in Finance and from Memphis University School in 1982.

David has been married to his wife Kelli for 20 years and they have five daughters: May, Annie, Ruthie, Mary Van and Joy. David enjoys time with his family and regular bike rides. “David leads by example with motivation and self-discipline.” This servant leader truly represents the goals, ideals, and imagination of Presbyterian Day School.

IMG 5407The first PDS Golf Tournament sponsored by the Alumni Association was held on April 19.

Despite the unusually cool temperatures, players enjoyed lunch and golf on The Links at Galloway. 

Congratulations to the team of Brice Bailey, Michael Murphy, John Phillips V, and Michael Schaefer for a first place finish.  Michael Murphy also won the Closest to the Pin Award, and Gus Oyler had the Longest Drive. 

The second place team was Chip Campbell, Ned Laughlin, Harry Sayle, and Jason Shelby. 

Thanks goes to everyone that participated in such a fun Friday!

Davidson '93 Named Outstanding Young American

Congratulations to Beau Davidson ‘93 who has been selected as one of the US Jaycees Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) for 2013.

For 75 years, the United States Jaycees have been honoring 10 men and women under the age of 40 who best exemplify the highest attributes of the nation's emerging young leaders. Davidson joins past recipients Nelson D. Rockefeller, Henry Ford II, Wayne Newton, Miss America Kate Shindle, Presidents Kennedy, Clinton, Ford, Nixon, Teddy Roosevelt, and Elvis Presley. Davidson will accept the award in Seattle this June at the 75th anniversary.



Harrison Williams ’08 Breaks State Record

PDS Alum Harrison Williams ’08 broke the state pole vault record by clearing 16-0 at the Ole Miss Invitational.  In addition, Williams, a junior at MUS, placed first in the decathlon at the Arcadia, CA invitational the prior week.  Congratulations to Williams as you continue to reach for the stars!



Wunderlich '08 - Nation's Top Kicker Commits to UVA

Congratulations to Gary Wunderlich '08 who has committed to UVA for 2014. Wunderlich, currently a junior at MUS,  is rated the number one kicker and the number one punter in the nation for the 2014 Class by Kohls Kicking Camp.  During his junior season, Wunderlich had 60% touchbacks and averaged over 40 yards per punt.
