What is an RSS newsfeed?
Suppose you have 50 sites and blogs that you like to visit regularly. Going to visit each website and blog everyday could take you hours. With RSS, you can “subscribe” to a website or blog, and get “fed” all the new headlines from all of these 50 sites and blogs in one list, and see what’s going on in minutes instead of hours. RSS is a format for syndicating news. RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication," and is used on major news sites to push news to the user. If your browser supports RSS newsfeeds, you can subscribe to the news for your son's class and your browser will automatically download updated news items for you. Browsers that currently support RSS newsfeeds include: Firefox, Safari (2.0 or greater), and Internet Explorer 7. There are various third party applications that support RSS newsfeeds as well. Note: This is the same news that is published to your son's web page, and is just a convenience offered for parents who wish to use it.
What items are published in the class newsfeeds?
Class news for the grade you are subscribed to, division news (elementary or early childhood), school news, headmaster notes. The calendar newsfeed contains the same items that are displayed on your son's class page.
