January Update from Headmaster Hancock

Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome the boys back to school after an extended holiday. I hope your Christmas and New Year’s celebrations were filled with memories. Starting back to school in the new year is always an opportunity for a fresh start.

Both boys and teachers will return to the classroom with a renewed excitement for the new year. This is a time to try a new book, stretch in a subject or even explore a new after school adventure. We will be encouraging our boys to reach beyond what is comfortable and, in the process, encourage him to put his growth mindset to work.

Changes to Lunch Plan

One change we have been working on is in the cafeteria. We spent the month of December gathering information and working with Piccadilly to fine tune the dining experience for our boys. We have looked closely at the most popular menu items and have added them to the rotation more often. We have made a change in vendors for the lunch meat and bread. The portions will be increased, as needed, to make certain boys never go hungry. Our lunch rotation will soon include favorite “guest restaurants” from past years. As a convenience, you can now order for the entire semester. Finally, we are trying to promote healthier choices in the cafeteria. We will continue to have conversations with boys about the food they are choosing to eat and encourage them to make wise choices.

Virtue of the Month - The Pacesetter

Many adventures await us in 2019. We begin the year with our virtue of Pacesetter. We will teach the boys that a Pacesetter sets the example for others. We will encourage him to make a difference in his community and to treat others with respect. Please consider joining us in chapel in the new year. Our Elementary boys meet in the 2PC sanctuary at 8:10 on Friday mornings.
