Feb 27 - From the Headmaster - Coronavirus

Dear Parents,

As the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID–19) takes hold in more and more places around the world, I want to let you know that PDS is monitoring the situation very closely. Many resources have been made available to our school, and we are utilizing all information to help us make plans. Last night the National Association of Independent Schools held a special webinar to help schools understand and plan.

At PDS we are working to instill good habits of hygiene in our students. We are instructing our boys on proper hand-washing techniques. We are also asking for everyone to cough or sneeze into the elbow. Students and faculty must remain home if ill and must be fever free (without the help of medication) for 24 hours before returning to school.

We are utilizing the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as our guide. We are blessed to have current and former parents who are experts in this field and they have served as resources for us in the past. Our custodial staff is diligent about sanitizing our building every day.

As more information becomes available, I will certainly share with you. The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is paramount.

Thank you, Steve
