Update from the Headmaster: Our Plan for the Rest of the School Year

Dear PDS families,

As you know, I have been communicating with families on Mondays and Wednesdays during this time of distance learning. In light of Governor Lee’s announcement this past Wednesday regarding schools remaining closed in Tennessee and President Trump’s announcement yesterday about reopening the country, I wanted to provide the following information to you today.

PDS will continue with online instruction through Friday, May 15. The following week, May 18-21, will be used to retrieve all school-owned items such as library books, technology, and other materials. We will also be distributing all of the personal items that are currently at school. We are in the process of creating a plan to accomplish the distribution and retrieval of items in the safest manner possible. Once our plan is complete, I will communicate with you.

Sixth graders will not have exams this year. Our current plan for graduation is:

Option #1

June 26-28

Option #2

July 17-19

Families with sixth-grade students have already received information regarding graduation.

We are continuing to monitor the health and safety of our PDS community. If you know of someone in need, please let PDS know. I am continuing to pray for the families and faculty of PDS. While I miss you all terribly, I know this is the right decision.

Thank you,
Steve
