Welcome! As a parent of a PDS student, you are a member of the Parents’ Association. The Parents’ Association is a volunteer support group for the school and our strength lies in the support of our parents. There is no charge or membership fee to belong to the Parents’ Association.
There are many ways to “plug-in.” We host numerous events throughout the year – some are service functions and others are fundraisers for the school.

Accelerated Reader Auction (Chair – Carrie Bentione, Vice-Chair – Amy Dudek) Volunteers are needed to assist with trimester prize distribution, collecting prizes for the AR Auction (Apr. 26, 2019) and working the AR Store (April 30 – May 1, 2019).
Annual Fund Class Volunteers Volunteers will work with the Advancement Office and Chairs (to be appointed) to help increase parent participation in the Annual Fund.
Art Appreciation Volunteers (Chair – Stephanie Hughes, Vice-Chair – JJ Keras) Volunteers will work with PDS art department helping with general projects, art show, and Artsonia.
Band Support Volunteers (Chair – Suzanne Mariencheck, Vice-Chair – TBD) Volunteers will provide support to the band program and facilitate band performances throughout the year.
Berclair Elementary School Partnership (Chair – Amanda Ray, Vice-Chair – Jennifer Hobson) Volunteers are needed to gather/deliver school supplies throughout the school year, help with Read for the Record (Nov) and the Angel Tree (Dec).
Book Fair (Chairs – Carrie West and Allison Pace, Vice-Chair – Joy Sharpe) Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of Book Fair – decorations, set up, sneak a peek, teacher wish list tables and sales. Volunteers are needed Oct. 19-Oct. 26.
Community Rewards (Chair – Amanda Farmer, Vice-Chair – Deede Sherman) Volunteers are needed to help collect boxtops from classrooms and to assist in promoting the various community rewards programs. Great opportunity to volunteer outside of school hours!
Crusaders Care (Chair – Krista Tadlock, Vice Chair – Katie Moore) Volunteers are needed to help provide meals, prayers and support to PDS families going through a difficult time due to accident, illness, or injury.
Faculty Appreciation (Chair – Ashley Frazer, Vice-Chair – Laura Lee Jones) Volunteers are needed to help provide for and set up for special lunches and birthday celebrations each month for the PDS faculty.
Father/Son Event (Chair – Christy Yarbro, Vice-Chair – Laura Russell) Volunteers are needed to assist in all aspects of this dinner for 3rd - 6th grade boys and their fathers. This event is currently scheduled for February 26, 2019.
Hospitality (Chair – Dupree McDonald, Vice-Chair – Lydia Norfleet) Volunteers are needed to serve and/or provide food and drinks for various school events.
Library Volunteers (Chair – Amy Lindeman, Vice-Chair – Amy Wilhite) Volunteers are needed to provide additional help in the library with processing books, AR searches, birthday books and other general library duties.
March Mania (Co-Chair – Maggie Lovell, Co-Chair – Krista Tadlock) Volunteers are needed to solicit donations and sponsors for March Mania auction, pick up donations, contact winners, help with data entry, and more.
PDS Spirit Sale (Chair – Caroline Conrad, Vice-Chair – Palmer Smith) Volunteers are needed to help set up and work the PDS Spirit Sales held throughout the year.
Sixth Grade Graduation Banquet (Chair – Bethany Owen) Fifth grade parents are needed to help with this event for sixth grade boys and their parents. The 2019 Sixth Grade Graduation Banquet will be held May 23, 2019.
Spring Luncheon (Chair – Heather Stemmler, Vice-Chair – Kristi Carmichael) Volunteers are needed to assist in hosting (floral arranging, set-up/clean up, registration, etc). This luncheon for 6th grade boys and mothers will be held in April
Treasurer/Cash Register Help (Treasurer – Sara Madasu, Vice-Treasurer – Susan Patterson) Volunteers are needed to assist with taking in money for various events held throughout the year.
