Former Head Coach of Memphis Grizzlies
Taylor Jenkins was born and raised in Dallas, TX, where he attended an all-boys school called St. Mark’s School of Texas.
After graduating from St. Mark’s in 2003, Taylor attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics while concentrating in Management and minoring in Psychology.
Following his collegiate years, Taylor began his 18-year career in the NBA in the summer of 2007. After serving as an intern in the front office of the San Antonio Spurs for one season, Taylor began his coaching career with the San Antonio Spurs' minor league team, the Austin Toros.
Following 5 seasons in the minor leagues, Taylor got the call for his first NBA coaching position as an assistant coach with the Atlanta Hawks. His next stop was a quick one season run with the Milwaukee Bucks, before being named the Head Coach of the Memphis Grizzlies in the summer of 2019.
Over the course of 6 seasons with the Grizzlies, Taylor led the Grizzlies to 3 playoff appearances, tying the franchise record for single-season wins in 2021–2022, was named Western Conference Coach of the Month on 3 occasions, and became the winningest coach in franchise history.
Most of all, Taylor cherishes his role as a husband and father. He and his wife, Chantall, have been married for 12 years, and are blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter. Taylor is proud to be a part of the PDS community, with his son, Austin, a current 5th grader.
