What does the future of K-12 education look like? How can we prepare students for their future and not our past?
At Presbyterian Day School, we're not just asking that question, we're working on answering it by leading the way with an innovative approach to elementary education.
Our mission statement is the same as it was in 1949:
Presbyterian Day School strives to glorify God by developing boys in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man
Whether they are learning to draw, play an instrument, or shoot a basketball, boys love the hands-on, active, creative approach that we offer at PDS.
Dear PDS Parents,
It's been a joy to see you on campus this week for parent meetings. We are quickly approaching the start of school on Wednesday and are enthusiastic to welcome your son back to campus. Nothing excites us more than continuing the process of building a foundation for life for your son's future.
I'm sure you are following the fast-changing landscape of COVID announcements with the latest executive order from Gov. Bill Lee.
Our goal this year is to avoid disruption — keeping your sons on campus, learning with their peers, and having those remarkable experiences that define the PDS education. Your son's health is a priority for us. We will continue to follow the guidance of Le Bonheur's Back to School Task Force, Shelby County Health Department, and local health experts.
PDS will still begin this year with students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus wearing masks indoors while transmission rates remain high. We are closely following the latest changes and will communicate any further developments that affect our protocols on campus.
Thank you for being so supportive through this ever-changing landscape.
Brad Sewell
Head of School
