imageEarly Childhood Family Night - Thursday, March 21

I would like to invite you to the PDS Early Childhood Family Night on Thursday, March 21. It is a come-and-go event between 5:30 and 6:30. You will go straight to your son’s classroom.

The evening is designed for the entire family, and we encourage you to bring siblings and extended family members. We love meeting aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Dress comfortably, load up the whole family, and join us for a fun-filled time of celebrating our boys and their school.

Parent Book Club: Wild Things - Starting March 19

Parents: Join us a for a study of Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boys by David Thomas & Stephen James.

Led by PDS' Jenny Stenberg, Emily Lequerica, and Darilyn Christenbury, the study will take place over 4 sessions offered from 11:30–1:00 on Tuesdays in the Library starting on March 19. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch.

Books are available for purchase from Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats.

Playing off the themes in the Caldecott Medal-winning children’s book Where the Wild Things Are, this informative, practical, and encouraging guide will help parents guide boys down the path to healthy and authentic manhood. Wild Things addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual parts of a boy, written by two therapists who are currently engaged in clinical work with boys and their parents and who are also fathers raising five sons. Contains chapters such as “Sit Still! Pay Attention!” “Deficits and Disappointments,” and “Rituals, Ceremonies, and Rites of Passage.”
