We offer an athletic program that builds throughout a boys's later elementary years at PDS. Our program emphasizes safety, sportsmanship, instruction in the fundamentals, teamwork, and participation for all players. All teams are led by PDS's experienced coaching staff.
We offer intramural tackle football, basketball, and soccer to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys. In addition to our intramural leagues we offer a competitive program for our 5th and 6th grade boys called Crusaders.

On a lacrosse scholarship at the University of Virginia, Patrick walked on to the 1995 ACC Champion football team and earned a full scholarship as a defensive end. By his senior year, he was named First Team AP All-ACC and First Team AP All-American.
Kerney was selected in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Patrick played 11 seasons for the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks. He was selected to the NFL’s All-Pro team in both 2004 and
In 2007, he led the NFC with 14.5 sacks and was named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Year. He retired after the 2009 season having accumulated 471 tackles and 82.5 sacks over the course of his NFL career.
Following his NFL career, Patrick earned an MBA from Columbia Business School. He is currently the President of Kerney Insurance and resides in Riverside, CT, with his wife Lisa and their four children.
