W. Hampton Sides '74

Hampton Sides is the author of the acclaimed best-selling narrative histories Ghost Soldiers, Blood and Thunder, and most recently Hellhound On His Trail .   He is editor-at-large for Outside magazine and has also written for National Geographic, The New Yorker, Newsweek, The New York Times, National Public Radio, and The Washington Post. His magazine work, collected in numerous published anthologies, has been twice nominated for National Magazine Awards for feature writing. 

Hampton currently lives in Santa Fe with his wife Anne and their three boys.  

Hampton was named Presbyterian Day School's 2011 Disintinguished Alumnus.
